What Is a Website Trust Score and How Is It Calculated?
Understanding website trust scores: what factors influence them and how to improve your score.
A website trust score is a numerical representation of a website's security posture. At SAB Security, we calculate it by analyzing multiple factors through passive observation.
How We Calculate the Score
Our trust score (0-100) is a weighted combination of: - **Security Headers (30%)**: Correct implementation of CSP, HSTS, X-Frame-Options, and more - **HTTPS & TLS (35%)**: HTTPS availability, certificate validity, redirect configuration - **DNS Records (25%)**: SPF, DKIM, and DMARC email protection - **Configuration Files (10%)**: robots.txt and security.txt presence and quality
What Your Score Means
- 90-100 (A+): Excellent security posture
- 80-89 (A): Strong security with minor improvements possible
- 70-79 (B): Good foundation, room for improvement
- 60-69 (C): Adequate but needs attention
- 40-59 (D): Significant issues present
- 0-39 (F): Critical problems requiring immediate action
